Didn't know that it came to LUX. Is that a new luxembourgish airline? Couldn't find anything about them...
What is it doing here?

greets Kevin

it is here for paperwork for its registration on the LX register. Who the actual owner/operator is at this moment I don't know. As far as I know, Strategic stopped operations in September. It arrived with a "Viking" flightnumber and, again, as far as I know, they ran into serious trouble this week and might also stop operations soon.

From what I understand, Strategic is essentially an australian airline which had also a french "subsidiary". This french subsidiary had its AOC revoked in September by the french authorities.
See: http://www.theage.com.au/national/strategic-airlines-french-arm-frozen-20100916-15enw.html.

It is my understanding that in order to continue european operations, they applied for a luxembourg AOC which was granted just a week or two ago.

See: http://www.airlinesanddestinations.com/airlines/strategic-airlines-parent-granted-new-australian-european-operating-certificates/

Hope this helps. (and yes, I know this does not provide an answer why they operated under a "Viking " callsign.)

Stay safe!

mix up in the Vikings! It used a Viking Hellas [VKH] flightnumber. And that company is still alive! However, they used callsign "Viking" that belongs to the other Viking... Viking Hellas is supposed to use callsign "Delphi".
