Hello

Once again, PAA is setting-up a new airline, PAA. It began opperations on the 1st of January 2011.

It will probably introduce (many) flights to LUX, as well as all-cargo and passenger flights, by 2012/2013. With creating their European hub here.

It currently has 2-6 Boeing 727-200F/PAX planes and two (2) 767F

but plans to lease/buy:
737-300/400/700/800 (F and Pax)
747-200/400(8I/F) (F and Pax)
767-300 (F and Pax)

and/or maybe Airbus A320,330,340

what's your opinion about?
Mine is cheers Shocked I am happy about. and finally some good news....

so we have now 2 16 year old Luxembourgish boys "working" for Pan Am. Looks like a promising future for that airline, really!

For a while there has been talk about another resurergence (after several unsuccessful attempts) of the "Pan Am" brand out of Brownsville (Texas).

How realistic all of this is, I have no clue. Seems almost like the yearly August story about the monster of Loch Ness Wink

Well, well .......

Atlas Air is operating for Panalpina, "Passion for Solutions" is a slogan for the spirit of Panalpina (look at their website !), and the logo is the Panalpina logo ......

What is written below PAN AM ? is it "on 5 continents" ? (PAN AM = Panalpina America ??)

In my opinion this has nothing to do with PANAM, but it is a sticker relating to Panalpina.

Regards, Guy

Just for the sake of keeping the flame alive: there are three developments in this "project".

1) they are in a fierce dispute with the city of Brownsville (TX) over subsidies for a potential start-up of passenger service to several cities in Mexico
2) they signed a memorandum with St.Louis airport (STL) with the aim of establishing cargo operations there
3) they were awarded by the governor of Texas an "enterprise zone" status which means they can get tax advantages if they create business

So far so good, but not a single airplane on the horizon.. pirat

...and you know what?

There is news in the topic: following his arrest in July, the owner and chairman of Pan American Airways has been indicted on August 16th for child pornography and faces now a minimum of 15 years in prison. No date of verdict set yet.

Now this seems pretty much like the end of this edition of Pan american, regardless of the outcome of the trial. Evil or Very Mad
