This afternoon the weather was a bit gloomy but nevertheless, it brought some interesting sights.
I got all of those shots while waiting and hoping for the Ethiopian MD-11... Did it finally show up?

Untitled Antonov An-12:

Boeing 747-236F Air Atlanta Icelandic:

The usual Embreaer:

Our Air Rescue Forces at work:

And I managed to get a nice closeup of one of the 737 pilots:

Nice pics indeed !
By "across the highway", do you mean on the other side of the highway ?

Thanks.

Hi!
Yes, murmeldeier, from the other side of the highway, almost next to the hanging sign...
But I believe you cannot access the spot anymore as there are some road work trucks parked in the area and the gates seem to be locked now Sad

Thank you 1000thomasto.

Yes but a bit further down, in perfect alignment with the taxiway. You can clearly see it when you walk downhill.

Yes it is. But here is a layout (I hope I can do that, otherwise I will remove it if the moderation think it's not okay):

The red square indicates a spot that you can access by climbing a little hill using a footpath to a resting area with a bench. The view from up there is the one you see in the first pic of my post.
Then, right across the place marked with the P (where I used to park my car) is the opening in the fence. It was accessible until a few days ago. Now there are some trucks parked there and some roadwork is going on, so that whole area isn't usable right now.

The fence (green line) is quite high... you cannot take a picture from the actual road level (Neihaischen str.).

What a beast ! (the lens, not the plane ... nor you of course).
I suppose you've got ah Hummer with a pod for a machine gun to use it ...
