PostSubject: Some different angles...   Sat Aug 11, 2012 1:12 pm

Hi all,

here some shots and close-ups of the regular traffic yesterday. As I wanted to try my lens, I ran with my ladder to the fence at the holding

´cause a CLX 748F was taxiing. Luckily, there were 4 aircrafts before it to depart so I was able to get some different shots Very Happy

Here we go with some others:

And here we go with the picture I wanted since I got my new lens Very Happy

And here some close-ups which are really close! Cool

The front landing gear:

The LED strobe lights:

The wingtips!

Whats the name of those? Slats or?

The upper corner of the tail with the Luxembourgish "Roude Léiw"!

Again some different views on the engine:

Under side of the wing:

I really love the design of the GEnx-2B67!

And another wide angle shot; RCV!

Hope you like them Smile

Tristan.

Slats or leading edge flaps. Although Slats, is the right term if I recall correctly.

Yeah, slats. That's the general term. But in the specific case of your shots, those are called (technically) gapped Krueger flaps. Instead of extending from the leading edge of the wing, they pop from the intrados of the leading edge. Quite nifty actually.

Wonderful detail shots Tristan, well done. I love it.
